Delete your Vox account

You can permanently delete your Vox account and the data we hold about you at any time. This page explains what happens, how long it takes, and how to proceed — including how to request deletion if you do not have the app installed.

What gets deleted

• Your account record — email, Firebase identifier, timezone, locale, subscription state.
• All your captures — transcripts, structured output (notes, tasks, groceries, reminders), routing results, and the per-capture .md artifact.
• Audio files — already deleted within minutes of transcription under our normal retention; any residual audio is removed during account deletion.
• Connected-service tokens — OAuth refresh tokens for Google, Notion, Slack, Todoist, plus any API keys you generated for Obsidian or other integrations. We revoke and forget these.
• Device tokens — Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens registered for push notifications.

Content already pushed to your own external services (a note in your Google Doc, an event on your Google Calendar, a task in your Todoist) stays where it is — those records live in your account on those services, not ours, and Vox cannot reach back in to remove them after the fact.

How to delete

From the Vox app

1. Open Vox and sign in.
2. Tap the gear icon → Account.
3. Scroll to Close account and follow the confirmation prompts.

From the web

1. Go to tryvox.app/login and sign in with the same account you use in the app.
2. Open your account page.
3. Click Close account and confirm. The account is scheduled for deletion immediately and you'll be signed out.

Without app or web access

If you can't sign in (lost device, deleted Google account, etc.), email privacy@tryvox.app from the address registered to your Vox account, with the subject line Delete my Vox account. We will verify your identity by replying to that address and process the deletion within 7 days.

Timing

When you request deletion, your account is scheduled for permanent removal. Live data (captures, tokens, devices) is hard-deleted from our database within 7 days. Encrypted backups roll over within 30 days, after which no copy remains. We may retain aggregated, non-identifiable usage metrics (e.g. "N captures processed last month") indefinitely; these contain no information that could identify you.

Cancelling a pending deletion

If you change your mind during the 7-day grace period, sign back in to the app or to tryvox.app/app/account and choose Cancel deletion. After the grace period the deletion is irreversible.

Subscription & billing

Deleting your Vox account does not cancel an active subscription on your billing platform (Google Play, the App Store, etc.). To stop being charged, cancel the subscription directly in your store account before requesting deletion. We do not process refunds — refund requests go through the store you purchased from.
